Synopsis of Asian Stories

A depressed Chinese-American living in Los Angeles hires his best friend to kill him after being left at the alter holding a $10,000 engagement ring in this dark comedy written and directed by Ron Oda. It was supposed to be the happiest day of Jim's life, but when his fiancée disappeared without a trace he was left deeply in debt and with no Valentine to comfort him. Desperate, Jim enlists the aid of his best friend - a Japanese hit man - to end his misery with a bullet. Now that Jim's days are officially numbered, he makes his way deep into the mountains in order to seek out his own fate. On the way to finding his funeral spot, the dejected Chinese-American meets a pizza delivery boy with some lucky charms, and a pretty girl. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
