Ice Blues is a generally agreeable epsiode in the Donald Strachey mystery series, though not a stand-out. Don and Tim make a nice ol' married couple, and the familiar, formulaic plot still manages to stay interesting due to smart direction and acting.

I really enjoyed this mystery. It has a good storyline, a little humor, a little action and good acting. I can't wait to see more of this series.

I have enjoyed the series, but I'm getting tired of nonstop film-noir-ish lighting. Don't these buildings have any overhead lights that work, or even any table lamps? Every scene is lit with west coast late afternoon golden sun coming in through blinds, leaving every actor with strips of dark and strips of light on their face. Even the films noir didn't use it this incessantly. And it worked for them because they were shot in black and white! Enough already. I want to see more Chad Allen and less shadow!
