When the lead star of a play suffers a debilitating injury, the director falls hopelessly in love with her graceful replacement. Nisha (Kapoor) was supposed to be the star of the show, but her involvement with the production hits a snag when she injures herself on the set. Now Rahul (Khan) will be forced to seek out a suitable replacement before opening night. As luck would have it, Rahul happens across hypnotically beautiful actress Pooja (Dixit) and immediately casts her as Nisha's replacement. As the production gets under way it becomes readily apparent a mutual attraction has blossomed between Rahul and Pooja, though for reasons beyond Rahul's understanding Pooja seems to be suppressing her true feelings. Later, when Rahul discovers the source of Pooja's timidity, he begins revising the script to better reflect his personal relationship with the captivating actress.
