Paranormal State: Season 01 (2007)
Member Rating:
Paranormal State is the very first series that explores paranormal investigations through the eyes and minds of college students. This series follows the dramatic life of Penn State University college student Ryan Buell and the other student members of one of the first university sanctioned Paranormal Research Society (PRS) as they seek to find the truth behind terrifying real life mysteries. Although the members of PRS are your basic college kids - dealing with the problems of school, dating, and finding their way in the world - they are definitely looking into other worlds as well, working on cases that include poltergeists, haunting and the darkest areas of the unknown. Each week they are contacted for help by outside parties ranging from The Catholic Church to ordinary families who are terrified by something supernatural happening in their lives.

I really enjoyed all 3 disk, to me you really have to be into the paranormal to really grasp every situation. This was not supposed to be extremely scary it is what these kids do. I hope they keep up the good work!!

This is a uniqe show about all things paranormal. If you are expecting this show to be like "Ghost Hunters: T.A.P.S. or GHI, it is not! It is almost a complete 180' from TAPS & GHI! Each episode consists mainly of watching the team do everything to get ready for the investigation but only showing a couple of minutes of the actual investigation, watching a medium walk through the place blindfolded, & setting quietly for what they call "Dead Time" that lasts for at least an hour, but after editing, "Dead Time" is cut so much it only show less than 5 minutes, and sometimes less than two minutes. It shows very little about the actual search for the supernatral. No matter what type of parnormal activity the clients seem to have, the team claims success without really doing very much "Ghost Hunting" or trying to get rid of the supernatural activity. The show has potential to be GREAT, but for now, all episode seems to follow the exact same script but with different locations and clients!

If your looking for some show that shows like the paranomal aspect of demons and such you won't find it here. This is more of the leader Ryan talking and then the guests talking and them sitting in a circle and then supposidly it is all taken care of. The leaderis always finishing the show the same. He is very monotone, I don't know it just has no feeling for me.
