Filmmaker Aaron Rose celebrates the independent spirit of D.I.Y. (do-it-yourself) culture in this documentary detailing how a group of like-minded American artists emerged from the underground in the early 1990s to have an enormous impact on the worlds of fashion, film, art, music, and pop culture in general. With virtually no connection to the mainstream art world, the ten artists featured in Beautiful Losers somehow managed to become the strongest creative voices of their generation. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I didn't like the documentary. It was so disjointed and disorganized. I couldn't figure out why any of these people were important to the art world—I had to google each of them to understand their impact. I guess if you are in the art world, this movie would be great but to a lay person, it was just not very informative or entertaining.

Having lived during this era, I could relate to the artists on many levels. The DIY generation made their own art scene among many other things. As with any sub culture, their movement was hijacked by pop culture and thrust them into the world art scene. This gallery and its artists still have influence on us in advertizing after all these years.

Uninteresting, noncreative, and boring.
