Tale of a Swedish Templar before, during, and after his time in the Crusades. I'm a fan of Templar times, Knights, etc. Not a lot of war action, but just enough. More of a story about an honest man during those times. A little mix of the new Robin Hood, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and Braveheart. A mix of a love story and war. Not too sappy to overlook if you are into this genre. Good acting, costumes, and scenery as well. I'd recommend it. Do note, that 75% of it is subtitled though. Mostly spoken language is Swedish, with a mix of Arabic and English. But still a really good flick. Touches on a lot of underlying Templar/Masonic ideologies as well.

Actually a very good movie, well written and action packed. The movie is made in Sweden, Morrocco and Scotland by a Swedish company. Some very good actiing and action scenes. Reminded me a lot of Kingdom of Heaven with similar historical context. I understand it cost $30million to make this movie. If made in the Hollywood it would have cost about $100million and would have only seen more computer graphics, bigger name stars and a bigger cast and most likely still be the same. However, it does have some "recognizable" stars, mixed medium sized battle scenes.

Beautifully filmed and acted. it had romance, action, and a healthy dose of 12th century history. One of the best directed films my wife and I have seen, and we watch 150 movies a year.
