Sometimes it's hard for filmakers to interwine genres of film but this movie did an excellent job of portraying a drama as well as a love story. I really enjoyed the film's inclusion of the Ameish culture. So, in a sense, it was not only entertainment but also a learning experience

Edward's friend's review: This is hands-down my favorite movie of all time. No kidding, when anyone asks me what my favorite movie is I always say "Witness". It has an amazing love story at its core...a love that is so strong but must be denied. The scene where Harrison's character accidentally happens upon Kelly's character while she's naked is just incredible filmmaking. It jolts me every time I see it, and I've seen it many times. This movie may be over 20 years old, but I promise you'll love it, especially if you're a chick. :-) Just rent the thing already, okay?
