Singles Ward #1 = AWESOME! Singles Ward #2 = Not so much. The production values may have improved slightly, but it's not nearly as good as the first one. Unfortunately, this one seems to have fallen into the same trap as a number of other mediocre mormon comedies. Mildly entertaining with an occasional great laugh, but lacking in the plot department and some very uneven performances. Some of the references to the first singles ward were a bit too much, but that's also where some of the best laughs came from (probably not funny, though if you hadn't already seen the first one like eighteen times - you know who you are). If you see basically every mormon movie that comes out (once again, you know who you are), I recommend it. If you're dabbling with the genre, you'd be much better off with the first Singles Ward or one of the movies that transcends the genre (such as The Best Two Years or New York Doll).

I'm the only koolaid/hawaiian punch drinker I know who hasn't seen Singles Ward the original. I really liked this - Perfect vignette of the LDS lifestyle -with a few quirks I wasn't aware extended outside of the Wasatch front. Yes I recommend this one. To investigators this is on the must see list after the discussions and before you set the baptism date. I'd include The RM, The Home Teachers, and Johnny Lingo the original. Hey Blockbuster! get me the Original Singles Ward! I need my fix...lol
