Great look back at a bygone era with biting commentary on the state of race relations at that time. Godfrey Cambridge was brilliant in the title role. KG

Great period piece. If a youngster watched it without backstory they might be confused. Funny and interesting.

Amusing story, well acted by Godfrey Cambridge and Estelle Parsons. Perceptive writing and it has some very funny one liners. A bit dated, but it’s still a fun movie.
