In the tradition of such psychologically-charged sci-fi outings as The Next One (1982) and K-PAX (2001) comes the cerebral science fiction opus The Man From Earth (2007). The story concerns Professor John Oldman, a scientist who summons a group of associates to a cabin one freezing night, and strikes them with a fantastic revelation: he is not a traditional human, but a 14,000 year-old immortal, who has survived centuries of evolution from the Cro-Magnon Era to the present. In the hours to follow, Professor Oldman's earth-shaking assertion about himself challenges the men on spiritual, scientific and historical levels. But the most incredible is yet to come - an even more astonishing truth in which the men's discussions culminate. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

I loved the ideas behind this script and have been turning them over in my head for weeks! An excellent script, well acted. The production value on this indie project is low, but does not get in the way of the amazing story. There's not much action, but the ideas of the film hold your attention easily. If you like My Dinner with Andre and other dialog driven films, you'll love this one!

Incredible yet so simple. I don't want to sound like I'm overstating the brilliance of this movie, but I was truly moved by this movie. It was like reading a great short story in a Science Fiction Anthology and being completely satisfied with the entire story from beginning to end. Simple, powerful, fun and very, very interesting.

This was a very simply made movie, but it made me think....what would a Cro-Magnon man be like that lived for that long? How would he adapt to a changing world? What were the things he had seen?Would he remember all of it or like us,only bits and pieces? And the part about Jesus....wow,that was just wow.Is this a movie I would watch again?No...but it was a great rental.I loved the movie K-PAX and this one was almost as good...almost
