I guess I was spoiled by the original movie. The dancers were great, but some of the acting was not. It was just not what I expected. I watched it because I knew some of the dancers were on "So you think you can Dance" and I wanted to see them preform. I give it a 3 and would not watch it again. Sorry!

I thought the original "Fame" was much better for a few reasons: the stories of a few of the characters were developed more, the songs were better, & all the trials and tribulations that the students went through were presented clearly and more life-like. This new version was fun to watch for the music and dance - and my 14 year-old daughter really enjoyed it - but my favorite is still the original.

great dancing scenes, good singing but too disjointed and juvenile
