In the tiny town of Herman, Minnesota, the ratio of single women to single men is staggering. The farming community is just about overflowing with unmarried, middle aged men who finally decide that they're sick of the bachelor lifestyle, so they organize a town festival as a means to attract potential mates. Little do the fellas know, however, that their plan will be almost too effective, bringing in droves of ladies from all over the country. Crazy, hilarious, and surprisingly touching, the romantic comedy that unfolds for this group of small-town bachelors leaves all their lives changed forever. ~ Cammila Albertson, Rovi

This is just a pleasant film about a small town with too many bachelors that is gradually losing its population and the businesses are drying up, and one of the town's businessmen gets an idea to have a Harvest Dance at the Annual Event of the year and take out an ad inviting all the single women in the area to attend. The media gets wind of it and the result is a bit overwhelming. What transpires is interesting. It's not wildly action-packed, but it's enjoyable enough if you like small town humor. William G. mentioned "Sweet Land". That was a historical film. I would say this is more like "New In Town", only without the union politics. It's about human relationships and sense of community. I liked it.

Don't expect a lot of depth or exploring each characters storyline, but if you want a good little story about small town life this is not bad. I would compare it to other Minnesota based movies like Grumpy Old Men or Sweet Land. Not nearly as good as those two, but as a Minnesota native I like to see movies that were filmed here.
