Clint Eastwood did a great job directing this feel good movie. They did a good job balancing the sport with the political undertones without being preachy. 5 stars for that Dirty Harry. It is refreshing when a director doesn't try to impose his personal beliefs\agenda on an audience. Let the body of work speak for itself--Invictus did that without a doubt. Freeman did a wonderful job portraying Mandela. Also, I think this movie will help rugby continue to gain traction in the US. I would have given this 5 stars except for some of the fake accents and the soundtrack. Overall, it was an excellent movie.

The movie begins with Mandela's release from prison and election to President of South Africa. It shows how he inherited a divided country and used a rugby team ( that the "Whites" loved and the "Blacks" wanted to desolve ) to UNIFY A COUNTRY and in the process WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP. Too bad Mandela wasn't our President.
