I agree that "Brick" is a more tightly executed movie. That said, "Assassination" is still a movie worth watching. The voice over by the main character (deftly played by Reece Daniel Thompson) has a sort of gritty detective/film noir type characteristic that has some funny lines. The "mystery" is somewhat predictable despite some admirable twists and turns. Still, I didn't figure out the entire storyline until the end. Unlike Brick, this film is NOT taking itself seriously. There is a sort of tongue-in-cheek feeling about the whole thing, acting, characters (especially the wickedly ironic Bruce Willis) plot and dialog. I highly recommend watching the deleted scenes in the extras section of the DVD. These extended scenes will fill in some of the missing plot points for the viewer. Put these longer scenes back into the movie the extra 18 or so minutes wouldn't have slowed the story arc significantly and would have made the film stronger.

Not bad , however, it seemed to have a predictable plot line. Still I enjoyed it and in the end you either like a movie or you don't.
