Hooray for well developed characters! I am not really a huge TV fan, I lean much more heavily toward the written word. In my experience, books have been much more interesting than their film versions. But I must say, I cannot imagine a book in which the charaters which would be more evocative of strength, vulnerability, emotion, etc., than the writing done for this series. And the actors are superb! They are all believable in their roles withour being cliches.

What really happens if America is attacked with nukes? This show gives a realistic view of life in a small town that survives the attack. Interesting relationship develope and unravel under the stress. This show only made it 2 seasons, more than likely because its too realistic. It's not for those who enjoy mindless entertainment, it will provoke thought. A great watch for those who can face the fact that this is a possibility.
