Two weeks have gone by since the death of Ed Malone, and Maggie (Joanna Kerns) still hasn't come to terms with her grief over her father's passing. In hopes of cheering up his wife, Jason (Alan Thicke) whisks Maggie off on a Hawaiian getaway...which turns out to be a protracted search for the Purpose of Life.
