Four lifelong friendships are put to the ultimate test when one man makes an announcement that causes everyone involved to reevaluate their relationships in this romantic drama from director Bill Sebastian. Fred had been wandering all night when he wakes up, scorched by the Texas sun, and began to make his way home. It was supposed to have been Fred's last day in town, and somehow he missed his own going away party. But it appears that Fred has had a change of heart, because now he's planning on staying in town and getting married. Unfortunately, Fred's happily-ever-after is about to turn to dust; Duck has some information about Fred's future bride that he needs to divulge before his pal ties the knot, and simply stating these facts may be enough to destroy longstanding friendships. But sometimes the hardest things to say are the things that need saying most, and by the end of this day four friends will see the nature of their relationships irreversibly changed by the undeniable truth. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Love/friendship movie about intelligent hillbillies is the way I see it. Wasn't too bad, but five dollar words coming out of hillbilly mouths was just unbelieveable.

I managed to make it through about half the movie before shutting it off. Its a 20's something story. About to move from his dead-end town, Fred is a no-show at his own going-away party. Instead, he takes a nighttime walk, during which he has an epiphany that makes him change his mind about leaving. His decision angers his friends and ex-fiancée, who've endured the emotional ordeal of saying goodbye. But Fred's new insight affects them in ways they can't yet appreciate.

Not seen yet, but had to rate it to get this info on! Here is what it's about: MIDLOTHIA (89 min) is a story of relationships brought to the brink. A genuine film about finding truth and self-worth by any means necessary, Midlothia was adapted from the play Pluck the Day by Steven Walters. In this original interpretation of an unusual love rectangle, Midlothia takes viewers into the depths of a small town in Texas, where on the surface values appear simple. The paths of four friends overlook different, but intersecting horizons. Overcome with the need to fix the mistakes of his life, hero Fred, gives way to underlying truths that motivate his friends. Eyes are opened and one is left on the road to an uncertain destiny. Awards include: "Audience Award" - Lake County Film Festival, "Silver Jury Award - Best Use of Music in Film" - Park City Film Music Festival, "Best of the Rest" - Dereel Film Festival and six awards from Microcinema Fest including "Best of Fest"
