This is a great message about the failure of relationship when man strives to reach God instead of living in relationship with God. The father in this movie put religion (his striving to be loved by God) above his relationship with God and his family. Loving God and loving family go together. Tragically the father put his religion above all else.

Oppressive religious fundamentalism can take a huge toll on a family. This fascinating (but short) film shows how a father's devotion to his faith has built an insurmountable wall between himself, his wife and young son. The ending is devastating. Haunting chamber music enhances the story. This well-done movie will stick in my mind for a long time.

This movie is not about religion per se, it is about faith and one of the saddest I have ever seen.
