A mentally disturbed girl mistakes a man on the street for the boyfriend who walked out of her life without a sound, only to find out just how deceiving appearances can be in director Oxide Pang's mind-bending psychological thriller. Winnie Leung (Charlene Choi) is a rather plain girl who spends most of her days in her apartment cooking, carving wooden dolls, and waiting quietly alone for her boyfriend, Seth (Shawn Yue), to return. One day, after recording Seth's furtive departure in her diary, Winnie ventures out onto the streets and makes acquaintances with a kind and handsome stranger named Ray (also Yue) after mistaking him for the missing Seth. Later revealing over lunch that Seth had apparently been killed in a tragic car accident, Winnie and Ray form a warm bond, and she eventually invites him to move in with her. As Winnie and Ray gradually begin to grow closer, the parallels between her new relationship with Ray and her old relationship with Seth begin to shed an entirely different light on the events of the recent past. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

While the movie was only 85 minutes long, it was definitely worth watching since at no time was it easy to guess what was going to happen. It was like an M. Night Shyamalan movie - not much happens until the twists start unraveling near the end. The director apparently thought it was funny to start rolling some credits about one hour into the movie - don't stop the movie as there's almost another half hour of movie left. If you liked the movie "Re-Cycle", you'll probably like this movie as they share the same Pang brothers' style. The acting, directing, special effects and sound were very well done. Charlene Choi is very skinny, looks more mature and provides her best performance in a long time. The picture quality is a bit dark, so you may have to turn up your TV's brightness level. The Dolby Digital 5.1 audio option made very good use of surround sound. As for extras, there's a trailer for the movie and trailers for five other movies. Definitely recommended.

This film is a visual and dramatic presentation of what goes on with a person's psyche when dealing with delusional disorder and paranoia schizophrenia. The movie is weird, and seemed to bounce around from one clip or scene to another. That made it a little hard for me to follow. But I still enjoyed it, just to see why the main character was experiencing paranoia and delusions, and the acting was good.
