For anyone that dares to opine that Cary Grant "could only play one character"....watch this movie. I addition to the wide range shown in his roles in "Father Goose" and "Bringing up Baby", here Grant shows you just how scary he can be. There is a scene about halfway through where he confronts the Joan Fontain character that should not be missed. At certain points, Grant actually smiles and still looks scary. It's usually very subtle...and his eyes contain a vicious glint. Grant could just do anything...bar none. The ending of this movie actually doesn't match the character that Grant put across. You get the feeling Hitchcock had something else in mind... Truly one of the greatest of all time. (If not THE greatest) Joan Fontain is also very good....and very hot.
