Hired by elderly Cynthia Parker (Eleanor Audley), Paladin heads to Cedar Wells to rout out the town's resident "bad guy" Amos Saint (Don O'Kelly) and his gang. Paladin is also supposed to persuade Cynthia's timid nephew, schoolteacher Laredo Perkins (William Joyce, to return to the East.
