Vicki Lawrence returns in the role of bombastic WAC sergeant Alvinia T. Plout. Now extremely pregnant, Sgt. Plout hopes to win a lucrative expectant-mothers contest, and strongarms her former "grunt" Laverne (Penny Marshall) into helping her. As often happens, one thing leads to another, culminating in a typically wacky finale wherein Sgt.
