Vicki Lawrence makes her third series appearance as Alvinia Plout, the overbearing WAC sergeant who made life a Living Heck for Laverne (Penny Marshall) and Shirley (Cindy Williams) during the girls' brief Army hitch. Having gone AWOL, Sgt. Plout takes refuge in the girls' Burbank apartment. When it becomes obvious that Alvinia is an even bigger pain in the posterior as a "civilian" than she'd been in uniform, L&S try to cook up a scheme to get rid of the woman without getting in trouble with the authorities themselves. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
