I loved this movie, and it is one of the most romantic I've seen in a while. Many interesting characters, multiple subplots and lots of cross-references to Jane Austen's six novels. I had tears in my eyes through much of the last 20 minutes once I realized that Persuasion was going to do its magic. It probably helps to have read Jane Austen or at least seen some of the movies of her books, but I don't think it's critical to enjoying the story and acting. It is certainly a chick flick but one a guy can like a lot if romantic comedies work you you.

Boring movie. The plot was not about Jane Austin. But a bunch of gals, trying to hook up an elderly women on the rebound with a younger man! Movie needs to be pulled off the shelf. There are other ways to introduce mates into a relation. The movies these days are Ludicrious .and most movies are back into the aliens/and vampires. What happened to the real feel good movies, and the major stars need to bring them back. This was a cheap movie to relay the sign of the times. No namers, don't bring in the crowds. I apologize if I offended anyone. The truth is we are willing to take a chance during this recession, is hoping people will rent, to not being bored at home. The acting is so stupid & silly, very sugary and directors are struggling to bring out the best of the best. BOOORING!!!!! like they say, "HE'S NOT THAT INTO YOU!" Also, "You can't fix STUPID!"
