When I took my 8-year-old daughter to the movies, "How To Train Your Dragon" and "Alice In Wonderland" was playing. I saw both previews and in my opinion, "How To Train Your Dragon" did not look interesting. But of course, she wanted to watch the Dragon! To my surprise, it was GREAT!!! It is one of the best Animated movies I have EVER Seen! The 3D Special Effects were so much better than most other, so-called, 3D movies, and yet this film is just as wonderful in 2D! It's a unique story that is told in a way that both kids and adults understand. I also found the emotions that the film created were equally felt by all, whether the scene was comical, exciting, dramatic, or sad. If you have children, this is one of those rare movies that everyone needs to see at least once! I believe that one day people will put this DreamWorks movie on the same level as some of Pixar's best. i.e. Toy Story, Monsters Inc., Cars, etc... Thanks for taking the time to read my review.

This movie was very charming and entertaining for the adults as well as the kids. The plot distinguishes this film from the other Dreamwork pictures like the more recent Shrek and Monsters vs Aliens films which rely more on gags and pop culture references. The 3D is an added bonus, but the movie can be enjoyed just the same without it which speaks volume for the quality.
