Discovery Atlas: Australia Revealed (2006)
Member Rating:
Discovery Atlas invites adventurous armchair vacationers to explore the world one person at a time with this release that offers unprecedented insight into the geography, religion, culture, and people of Australia. To outsiders Australia is a land well-known for its unforgiving yet hauntingly beautiful terrain, to the spirited people who live there it is the very definition of freedom. Now viewers can drop in for a visit with one of the world's oldest cultures as they step into rugged trucks, round up cattle on the world's biggest ranch, and travel 22,000 miles of coastline to compare the desolate desert landscape with the lush and fertile land of the coast. The people of Australia have weathered some of the driest, harshest conditions known to man, yet they remain steadfast and loyal to the land "down under" through thick and thin. From the Aborigines to the city dwellers who fill the streets of Melbourne, these are the people who keep one of the youngest nations on the planet constantly moving. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Sorry to hear about all the HD-DVD problems, but if you have a Blu-Ray player don't be discouraged! This video plays perfectly and looks absolutely beautiful. Well worth the rental.

A quick Google search shows that Italy and Australia are not working on a majority of HD-DVD players. Just a heads up. I was really looking forward to watching this, Google the problem if you are considering renting this. Discovery should be re-manufacturing these two so they will work. I would like Blockbuster to note if they are planning on getting the newer version when it is available.

Very good overall view. Would liked to have seen MORE of each area. Still on the list of places to visit.
