This film is so awful it's sometimes agonizing to watch. Sophomoric screenplay, mediocre acting, lackluster lead make this film smolder like a wet match. So, don't waste your time. Instead, check out these films: the sometimes hilarious "Cut Sleeve Boys," the indeed beautiful "Beautiful Thing," or Ang Lee's very funny "The Wedding Banquet," or the explosive "Burnt Money," or the fascinating and smoldering two-part BBC series "The Line of Beauty," the tragic "Keiller's Park," or the $700,000 masterpiece "Eighteen." None of these films are by Americans. LTR and far too many other similar films, made in America by American gay men, are an embarassment to the American Gay Community at a time when such great (in comparison) gay film is being created elsewhere. Check out the mesmerizing, erotic "Velvet Goldmine!"

It wasn't the greatest movie I have evern seen but it was worth watching. Some of the stereotyping was irritating but not to be taken seriously. I enjoyed it but I wouldn't watch it again.

Mathew Montgomery makes this film worth watching. He is a convincing and credible actor who brings his character to life.
