If you're expecting Monty Python then just rent The Life Of Brian, again. Most American's say they LOVE British comedy and their reference points are only Monty Python. This and almost all other great British comedies has nothing in common with Monty Python... this show is extremely subtle and funny, but also beautiful in the way it depicts a middle-class family from the North. It's filmed using one camera, almost exclusively in the Royle's living room, just illustrating the family's life, in real time.
