This was a very curious movie. It was black and white and was a supposed satire of period melodramas. I am not sure what was satirical about it since obviously they were trying to mimic these melodramas seriously and ended up being ridiculous. A satire of a melodrama? Come on! The movie was partly believable if you suspended all disbelief. It was inconsistent;. Would you ever see such graphic nudity and in old melodramas--never! Was that funny? No! It is supposed to be tragic, but is kind of funny (weird) and terribly stupid. There is a feeling this character (Angel) is just a rewritten Scarlet O'Hara. The character is delusional (with her delusions of grandeur) as well as the author. I personally found it to be terribly annoying. I did watch the whole thing, but I sort of regret it. People who think they are more intelligent and "get" this "satirical" piece have finer tastes in humor than I do. Good luck! PS Why is the word se* a inappropriate word?

Typically I love period movies, but this one was sad and boring and odd. The costumes and scenery were the only redeeming factors here. This movie isn't worth even a bored moment.

This was an excellent movie with a very tragic story. I really loved the performances and the settings were stunning.
