I viewed this film years after its release. People come together in Vermont for the weekend: a writer, a young troubled woman, her best friend, and the young troubled woman's mother and new husband. Diane Wiest is the friend, who though she has many issues in her own life, tries very hard to be true to her friend. Slow moving but worth it in the end.

Just what I expect (and love) from Woody Allen: quirky people that you care about, if ONLY they'd stop whining, but you understand why they do... People like you and me, if we were only more gorgeous & witty... and in a Woody Allen movie. Excellent viewing.
