Hoping to get Kay (Lily Tomlin) off her back, Murphy (Candice Bergen) arranges for Kay to produce an afternoon talk show--hosted by network president Stan Lansing (Garry Marshall), and featuring a band fronted by "FYI" investigative reporter Frank (Joe Regalbuto). Unfortunately for Kay, the first telecast of the new show threatens to be the last when guest star Tom Hanks flees from the studio in terror.
