This title contains two stories, "Bugs" and "Diet". Both share the quality of a slowly developed plot with a sudden ending that contains the "horror" aspect. Unfortunately, neither of these stories evoke any sense of horror. In the DVD "Premiere Opening" extra, even Kazuo Umezz admits they're not really horror stories. I'm not sure the ending for "Bugs" made any sense, however, the CGI was surprisingly well done. And although the ending for "Diet" wasn't expected, it didn't seem to have anything to do with the story. Perhaps it's a part of manga storytelling that doesn't transfer well to live action video. And one thing is obvious in the DVD extras - Shoko Nakagawa is crazy for Cocoa Puffs over Kazuo Umezz. Overall, the storytelling was of equal quality, if not slightly lower than the "Kadokawa Mystery & Horror Tales" series. The audio is in stereo and the English subtitles cannot be switched off. Recommended only if you're running low on better titles to add to your queue.
