I can only imagine how difficult it would be to keep the priestly vow of silence in confession knowing something as horrifying as hearing the confession of a murderer assuring you that many religious will die. Especially keeping silent when you know breaking your silence would mean breaking your vow or preventing murder. Once totally devoted to God in His service, a priest cannot break his promise. Donald Sutherland portrayed this image to the max. This movie is on the edge of your seat exciting. Being a Catholic myself, I can respect the hardship in which Fr. Koessler had to endure. No one said life would be easy and The Rosary Murders proves exactly that. Donald Sutherland and Charles Durning are wonderful actors starring in a suspenseful thrilling movie. This is one of my favorites.
