Father Ted: The Complete Series 1 (1995)

Father Ted: The Complete Series 1 (1995)
Member Rating:
Compiling all six episodes of the first season/series of Father Ted, this DVD is an essential part of any fan's collection. While the audio and video quality of the episodes seems slightly better than that of the series two DVDs, the special features are starker here. The menus aren't as polished, though they are colorful and easy to navigate. The main menu gives the option to play every episode, or individual episodes can be selected from a sub menu. Each episode is broken into five chapters, and each has its own menu screen with chapter titles and still images, making it easy to find favorite scenes. The only other bonus feature is a cast and crew biographies section that covers the four primary actors and their characters, as well as writers Graham Linehan and Arthur Mathews. Though additional special features, especially cast commentaries, would have been nice, it's a fine presentation of the episodes themselves. ~ Tim DiGravina, All Movie Guide

I have a friend who is president of a PBS TV station here in the USA He said that when ever they ran episodes of FT he got complaints from Catholics. If you can't laugh at yourself who can you laugh at ?

This serious is ridiculously funny. If you like wacky British comedy, you'll probably love it. =)

I would rate this the funniest comedy of all time, although it definitely helps if you are from the UK or Ireland to get some of the humor
