A Broadway-bound stage comedy is supposed to reunited the formerly married acting team of Maggie Tarrow (Eleanor Parker) and Julian Lord (Edward Mulhare). But when Maggie's young understudy is killed just before the first performance, it looks as though someone doesn't want the play to open.
