The reclusive "Tulsa Sound" singer who for thirty-five years has continually shunned the spotlight opens his tour bus doors to cameras to discuss his innermost thoughts on touring, songwriting, and success in a rare and revealing portrait of influential singer/songwriter J.J. Cale. Widely respected by both his fans and his peers for penning such hits as "After Midnight" and "Cocaine" while always remaining modest and true to the music, Cale reflects back on his childhood in Tulsa, Oklahoma and his early work with such well-known musicians as Leon Russell, Jamie Oldaker, and Carl Radle before discussing the curious mix of country, rock, jazz, and blues that would eventually come to be known to as the "Tulsa Sound."
