Disc one contains "The Disappearance of Lady Frances Carfax" and "The Problem of Thor Bridge", both with Edward Hardwicke doing a splendid job as Dr. Watson. "The Disappearance" has some beautiful Lake Country scenery and locations, as well as a London conclusion that is well-plotted for the film and delivered smoothly by Jeremy Brett. "The Problem" is just about the best depiction of a Holmes story for the big or small play, with every part adhering closely and delightfully to the original tale. Very satisfying.
