This film was the first good anime-made-in-real-life that I liked. At first I was worried because there was lots of make-up and stuff and some flying through the air...something that usually spells C-A-M-P, but I was pleasantly suprised with a movie that followed anime tradition to a T. Examples include impatient benevalent warriors who refuse to use theri weapons till the very last moment. Children advanced beyond their time. Nearly silent characters that only speak for the sake of dark humor and to establish a pretext for each battle. A+

I'll be the first to admit, you might have to watch his twice for it to make any sense to you. You also might want to brush up on some Japanese mythology. But, as an eternal fan of Tokyo-shock flicks, I loved this movie. Tak Sakaguchi portrayed Grave perfectly, I doubt anyone else could master the sarcastic humor and do their own stunts as well as he does. The movie describes itself as "An unknown place...An unknown time" which allows all the costume and drama of Japanese period films, and all the motrocycles and actions of modern-day films. If you're a fan of versus, i would definitely recommend this one. Addditionally, all the music for the movie is done by the highly capable Visual-kei band "Dir en Grey" (Wai!)

This was a surprisingly good movie. I didn't even intend to rent it at first, i just liked the cover art. But man, this is one of my favorite movies of all time. Great characters, action, and a unique story.
