Diane Keaton stars as a unconditionally loving, but meddling, mother whose vain attempt to prevent her insecure youngest daughter from repeating the same mistakes that she made leads to a series of comic misunderstandings in director Michael Lehmann's affectionate family comedy. When it comes to the topic of motherhood, Daphne Wilder (Keaton) has seen it all. Her eldest daughter, Maggie (Lauren Graham), is a highly respected psychologist and her middle daughter, Mae (Piper Perabo), is both sexy and smart, but youngest Milly (Mandy Moore) just can't seem to get things right no matter how hard she tries. Recognizing that the romantic exploits of her charming-but-struggling youngest always seem to end in tears, concerned mother Daphne vows to find Millie the perfect man. Though she always means well, Daphne's misguided attempt to set her daughter up by placing a carefully worded personal ad proves once and for all that even the most well-intending of mothers can sometimes overstep their boundaries. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

As a long-time fan of both Diane Keaton's and Lauren Graham, I highly suggest that you pass on this movie. I actually made it through the entire movie, but I hated it! The script was horrible. The character that Diane Keaton played was so out in left field, that it wasn't believable. The character Lauren Graham portrays is the absolute worst shrink I could ever imagine! The only redeeming quality that Diane Keaton's character had was getting hooked up with Stephen Collins, but I couldn't imagine that someone like him would have anything to do with her's. Pass on this if you still want to enjoy flicks with Diane Keaton.

By the midway point, I was ready to strangle Dianne Keaton.. a totally unlikeable character that I just got bored with

while Diane Keaton and Mandy Moore are both adorable, the plot for this movie is very weak and does neither one of them any justice. the plot rushes through the important story line and then takes its time on the unimportant, leaving you annoyed that you have to fill in the blanks yourself. and the supporting sisters are just both annoying to me - esp. the one from Coyote Ugly, what an awful character she had!!
