Soundstage: America Live in Chicago (2005)
Synopsis of Soundstage: America Live in Chicago
As broadcast on PBS from 1974 through 1985, the concert series Soundstage presented white-hot rock and pop acts from all over the world, including artists such as The Temptations, Al Green, Benny Goodman and Bob Dylan, in one-hour increments. The program resurfaced to immense acclaim (with the same format) in 2003; one of those concerts, with the popular 1970s pop band America, is featured in this release. Filmed before a live audience, the outfit performs such era-defining staples as "Lonely People," "Horse with No Name," "Ventura Highway" and "Don't Cross the River." Surprise guests who perform with the band include Christopher Cross and Henry Diltz. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
