Yet another Chinese lunar New Year's romantic comedy capitalizing on Sammi Cheng's name and beautiful face. For some reason, it seemed like Miriam Yeung could have easily substituted Sammi Cheng and the result would have been the same - pointless fluff by a singer turned actress. The incoherent and mindless plot might not even keep the interest of an adolescent who's a fan of the actors. In this adventurous, romantic comedy, there's nothing resembling adventure, romance or comedy. Louis Koo plays the archetypal jerk, Sammi plays the lovestruck martial artist and everyone else plays as brainless stooges. The makeup person who did Sammi's makeup needs to go back to cosmetology school unless the clown look is in vogue. Despite the DTS audio option, the sound came across as stereo. As for extras, there's a trailer for the movie, a "Making Of" feature (7:10 min) that isn't subtitled, trailers for two other movies and a "Databank" feature consisting of cast and crew credits. Not recommended.
