Synopsis of Star Ocean Ex [Anime Series]
Based on the PlayStation game Star Ocean: The Second Story, the story of Star Ocean Ex follows the events on the first disc of the game. It takes place in a universe in which planets that have developed the technology to utilize space travel are bound to an agreement not to tamper with the development of less technologically advanced planets, an agreement often compared to the Prime Directive of the Star Trek franchise. The anime series focuses on Claude Kenni, a young man trying to outrun his father's legendary military status. His pursuit of personal freedom takes him all the way to a distant planet full of magic and mysterious creatures. It is there that he meets a powerful girl named Rena. Now, together with his new companion, Claude is pulled into a quest to investigate the monsters that are terrorizing the people of this planet, and possibly to find the destiny that he fled his father's shadow to find. ~ Cammila Albertson, All Movie Guide
