The movie was very intense and made for good thought. Wouldnt recommend this for a warm cozy night with your partner!!! The movie made me angry so I guess it was good.

The movie is obviously low budget in several scenes, but some scenes are professional. The acting by the deputies is really overacted. The lead actor does a good job, but several of the supporting actors are weak. The storyline is okay. It was an obvious "who dunnit" murder mystery. It's just as much about corrupt white boy cops in the south as it is black homosexuals in the south. The movie is a bit slow. I rented it, but I would not rent it again. And I wouldn't think of buying it.

An abysmal performance by Kent Faulcon and an apparent lack of research or time spent in the locale by Faulcon, the scriptwriters, or directors made what may have been an interesting and insightful concept almost unwatchable. Straight actors have very successfully turned in great parts as gay men, but Faulcon came across as either unable to play the part or afraid to appear as a gay African-American man for his bio. Some of the scenery and the attitudes did return me for a moment or two to my upbringing in the very Deep South. There were good performances by the other actors, but I regret wasting the rental credit.
