His beloved Pontiac Firebird threatened with repossession by the bank, mullet-haired menace Zerk (Justin Long) convinces his best friend, Shirts (Joey Kern), to help raise money to save the car by selling plaster casts of fake Bigfoot tracks on the Internet. When role-playing dweebs Gavin (Jeremy Sumpter), Hobie (Hubbel Palmer), and Maynard (Rob Pinkston) stumble upon the falsified "evidence," they naïvely assume it to be the genuine article. Now, self-proclaimed Sasquatch expert Dr. Artemis Snodgrass (Carl Weathers) is on his way to town to verify the widely reported discovery. With little time to loose before their ruse is revealed, the lame-brained Internet scammer and his pal rush to cash in as quickly as possible in order to save Zerk's sweet ride from the dreaded repo man. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I enjoyed this all the way. Justin Long proves himself once again by succeeding in a questionable role. He gets it right as usual. The movie has charm. Characters are likeable, white-trash, rural kids with "Napoleon Dynamite"-ish sensibilities in their characterizations. (John Heder has a cameo.) It's more of a kids movie: nerds versus bullies. Throw in Sasquatch and a side-show scientist. Great ensemble. Jeremy Sumpter is coming along as an actor. Joey Kern is a riot as "Shirts" the dumb blonde sidekick. For fun, this is not a waste of time. Well done. Disneyesque. I'd see again. There's a good "deleted scene" ( in Features) of Justin doing the National Anthem on electric guitar - funny.

This delightfully offbeat story concerns a group of teenaged fantasy-obsessed outcasts who spend their time sparring with giant foam weapons and watching "Clash of the Titans" and "The Crow". When the main character's neighbor, Zerk (Justin Long, in what may be his best role yet as the quintessential 'townie') needs money to pay off a credit card he used 6 years ago for $5.17 and never paid back, he decides to stage a Bigfoot sighting, complete with a giant "Sasquatch Dumpling". When the outcasts stumble (literally) upon the spoor, they alert the media and suffer the effects of jealousy and first loves. Don't expect a lot of depth or even plot, but do expect enough unusual characters and one-liners to keep you entertained. Joey Kern is quite good as the character, Shirts, who is a dead ringer for Mike from “American Movie”. "Seriously? You're having nuggets tonight?"

I didn't like how shirts had the same voice as the brother in napoleon dynamite and i didnt like how justin long's character would say idiots or even how jeremy sumpter's character would say idiots and kick the dirt things like that i know it was made by the guys who did dynamite but it can't be recreated that movie was pure genius. this movie was not pure genius but funny just the same. I did however love Justin Long's mullet that is what was def the highlight of the movie for me. It was pretty funny how the kids were so stuck in the 80s and early 90s but it was current day. I loved the parody of the debter and the collector coming for the $5.00 burger 6 years ago because that is about what it feels like. the movie was goofy but it was cute.
