Think of every bigoted male-bashing e-mail you've ever gotten, and imagine them made into a film, and you've got the basic template for this movie. On the plus side, there are a few very funny sketches, the "mid-life crisis" one being the best. Dave Barry can be really funny when he's not over-the-top silly. On occasion, he has a remarkable ability to find hilarity where others have failed. Dan Marino is also fun to watch. Since the movie is mercifully short, it's almost worth the investment of time, for the few good laughs and for the hot women!

My husband and I watched this movie, expecting some elbow-jabbing, "You do that!!!" comedy. What we got was, well, not so much. This movie is a lot like the HIgh School Drama Club Spoofing on Saturday Night Live Spoofing on a Low-Budget, bad acting Community Theatre play. In other words, it's bad. It's REALLY bad. The acting is terrible, Dave Barry, who is a great writer, should not try to put himself on screen, he is a bad Mike Myers. The movie SCREAMS low budget, and I mean, really, really, low budget. The scenes, while sometimes funny, are just not really good enough to hit the mark. They come close to pay-dirt laughs, but for the most part, each one ends with disappointment.

This is sort of like Saturday Night Live, with short clips about every day situations...and yes, it's mostly about guys and things they're notorious for. Not to be totally biased, this comical film also includes what females sometimes think or feel when encountering the guys. I thought it was pretty close to the truth, and all I can say is "I've been there before" and thank you, Dave Barry, for clarifying it. Worth watching!
