This is a nice little documentary about the fight of one girl to get comprehensive sex ed in her schools. Her passion is infectious and the journey is an interesting one.

This movie should be called, "Being Educated by Shelby Knox". By the end, you can't help but feel so proud of this teenager and how hard she has worked to fight against the misguided prejudice of her surroundings, especially her school and her pastor. At least her parents would listen to her and were willing to consider her more liberal point of view. Shelby is asking great questions, and unless you too live in a town like hers in Texas, you will be shocked by the misguided perceptions of the conservative religious majority that surrounds her. But despite the great subject matter of this film, the story dragged and was poorly shot. It would have been much better edited to fit a 20 minute segment on 60 minutes.

I showed this movie to my group at high school and they loved it. I of course showed them clips. They thought that the town she lived in was just strange considering they live in Philly. This truly invited questions and discussions without prompting. Although I did feel at times she was side tracked by helping other causes. Her parents seemed instrumental in helping her to focus. Excellent for teenagers.
