The comedienne who shot to stardom as "the world's worst housewife" offers an intimate look at her life and career on the eve of her farewell stand-up performance. Phyllis Diller has been keeping her fans in stitches for nearly half-a-century. A gleefully self-depreciating comic whose outlandish sense of style always set her apart from the pack, Diller not only recollects her rise to stardom, but also allows viewers into her home to show just what life is like behind the scenes. A press conference leading up to her final performance showcases the quick-witted Diller at her unscripted best, with additional rehearsal and dressing room footage showing just what an incredible impact she has had on the world of show-business. This was an excellent video. Not only did it give a retrospective of her career, but in the extras you can see her last performance in total without any interuptions.. The other reviewer didn't bother to look at the extras offiered on the DVD. Look at them all and you will not be disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed this DVD.. Rent it.

A good documentary, and Diller's last show is shown in its entirety in the extras section. There's more of her wit in her press interviews and with a special screening of the movie. Diller seems tired during her performance, but does give it her all, being very professional and focused about it (she performed for about 45 mins). She's nearly 90, so I'm cutting her a lot of slack! I wanted more from this, but as I like "P.D.," perhaps I'm asking for way too much to cram 90 years into one DVD! It's good though and if you like PD, you'll enjoy it.

I enjoyed the insight into her career and the comedy business in general. I'm glad they included the uncut performance in the extras, though I just didn't think her jokes were that funny. I have to assume that she has been telling the same jokes for a very long time, and those who are looking forward to hearing the same performance they've known and loved for so long will not be disappointed.
