Once again Hilary Swank has chosen to act in a movie with human significance and social conscience. I found the movie very well done. Perhaps some in our society do not think that injustices committed in nations on the other side of the world, tare of viewing interest. The historical violence, the offers of amnesty, the ethical dilemmas are for those who desire justice and the knowledge of injustices being committed in various parts of our planet. Moreover, every good humanitarian resolution does not emanate from the U.S. Sadly, the corporations who control the news (and the vast majority of the movies shown in our "free" land seem to be more concerned about the trials and tribulations of so-called celebrties and sports stars.

I am being generous in giving this a full star. While the subject matter is very engrossing, the acting and directing isn't worth the money spent on the movie. No wonder I never heard of it at the box office! If you would like to see a GREAT movie of exactly the same subject matter, rent "In My Country" with Samuel Jackson.

This was an exceptional film that brought to light a part of world history that is often not heard. I thought the performances by Ejiofor, Swank and Bartlett were powerful and heartfelt. Overall, it was a difficult story to watch but it was a story that was most certainly worth telling. I highly recommend this movie.
