Hi, I'm not John, I'm Mia. I had vague memories from early childhood of Barbara S. dressed like Madeline with a big french hat and mini dress. Then I found this movie and a flood of memories came back. Even the opening with all the geometrical art reminded me of the Sears Cataloge that year and the Dawn Dolls I was playing with while my mother was watching the movie. I was home sick when the DVD came, and I watched it over & over- I really enjoyed it. Naturally- this movie seems hokey by today's standards but if you're looking for a trip down memory lane and you had enough of Hepburn and Doris Day, try this! You might just see forever! ;)

I absolutely love this movie! I am a huge Barbra Streisand fan, and this movie is my favorite of hers. I enjoy the cinemotography, the music and the theme that everyone is special regardless of how awkward you are. The music and the movie always make me feel better when I am having a bad day. Yves Montand isn't a bad leading character either. The soundtrack is great! If you like musicals, I highly recommend this movie! It is a great pick me up !

Like buttah! Barbra's amazing singing and comedic talents are in great form here. Who knew she could do such a great British accent? Definitely worth seeing if you are a Barbra fan. This movie is one of her best.
