I have to admit to being a "bonnet movie" addict, so found this movie to be quite enjoyable, though it in no way compares to the classics, such as Pride and Prejudice, Persuasian, or Sense and Sensibility. The characters were rather broadly drawn, but the story was interesting, and the screenplay, by Andrew Davies of P&P fame, was probably as good an adaption of this Trollope book as could be possible. Recommended for fans of British miniseries steeped in 19th century goodness :)

I loved this movie! You either loved or hated the charaters and some you changed your mind about by the end of the movie. There is an extra on the 2nd DVD about Trollepe, watch it, it is intersting how close to his own life this movie really is.
